What does one-trip mean?

A one-trip container is a new shipping container that has typically made one loaded ocean trip from the manufacturer. Because it has been transported, minor cosmetic marks may be present. One-trip containers generally offer the cleanest appearance and longest remaining service life of the container grades we supply.

What is Cargo Worthy (CW)?

Cargo Worthy containers are used shipping containers that meet the structural requirements for international cargo transport at the time they are certified. Cosmetic wear, dents, scratches and surface rust may be present depending on the individual unit.

If the container is being purchased specifically for international shipping, please let us know when requesting a quote so the applicable certification requirements can be confirmed.

What is Wind & Watertight (WWT)?

Wind & Watertight containers are used containers intended primarily for secure storage. They are expected to keep normal wind and rain out when the doors are properly closed, but cosmetic wear such as dents, scratches and surface rust should be expected.

WWT containers are generally best suited to customers who need functional storage and are less concerned about appearance.

Do you deliver?

Yes. Barnicke Containers arranges delivery throughout Southern Ontario. Delivery availability and pricing depend on the container size, delivery postal code, site access and ground conditions.

How much space is required for delivery?

For a 20ft container, allow approximately 60ft of clear, straight working length.

For a 40ft container, allow approximately 180ft of clear, straight working length.

The delivery route should also provide approximately 15-17ft of access width and 18ft of overhead clearance.

Can I inspect a container before purchasing?

Barnicke Containers operates on a buy-to-order model rather than from a public container depot. We provide photographs of the actual container for review before it ships.

How do I get a delivery quote?

Submit a quote request with the container size, condition, quantity and delivery postal code. Providing information about your ground conditions and delivery access will help us assess the delivery requirements and provide accurate pricing.

What is the difference between new and used containers?

New (One-Trip) containers have typically made one loaded ocean trip from the manufacturer and generally have minimal cosmetic wear.

Used containers have been in service for longer and will normally show more cosmetic wear, including dents, scratches, paint wear and surface rust.

Used containers are offered in different condition grades, including Cargo Worthy (CW) and Wind & Watertight (WWT), depending on their intended use and condition.
